From his first days in office, Trump has waged war on climate science and the facts that support it. His anti-science efforts have included appointing climate change deniers to top positions in his administration, prohibiting government scientists from giving speeches or using social media, and signing executive orders removing critical environmental protections put in place by the Obama administration.
Now, according to recent reporting, the Trump administration is going so far as to actually ban the use of the phrase “climate change” (and related phrases) in key government offices. Reports Politico:
Reports Politico: “A supervisor at the Energy Department’s international climate office told staff this week not to use the phrases “climate change,” “emissions reduction” or “Paris Agreement” in written memos, briefings or other written communication, sources have told POLITICO.”
“Employees of DOE’s Office of International Climate and Clean Energy learned of the ban at a meeting Tuesday, the same day President Donald Trump signed an executive order at EPA headquarters to reverse most of former President Barack Obama’s climate regulatory initiatives.”
