Donald Trump is at Mar-a-Lago yet again this weekend, enjoying the high life on the taxpayers’ dime. While much of his weekend has been spent tweeting wholly unsupported conspiracy theories about the Obama presidency, it appears that Trump has also cut into his vacation time by plotting another assault against immigrants and Muslims.
According to numerous sources, Trump and high level administration officials have met at Trump’s resort this weekend in preparation for a Monday roll out of a new immigrant ban. Reports the Washington Post, “On Saturday, Trump met with Attorney General Jeff Sessions and Department of Homeland Security Secretary John F. Kelly — both central to the implementation of the order — at his Mar-a-Lago resort.”
“The White House is expected to unveil a new entry ban executive order on Monday…The order is expected to be a revised version of an entry ban that President Trump signed in January, which has been blocked by a federal court.”
According to top Trump aide Stephen Miller, Trump’s newest order will essentially be a re-hash of his prior Muslim ban, but with some “technicalities” addressed to permit the order to pass judicial challenge. Based on how quickly his last immigrant ban was challenged – and blocked – it is likely that a court will be reviewing these technical “fixes” sooner rather than later.
