Multiple outlets are reporting that a guest at Donald Trump’s Mar-A Lago resort was permitted to take a photograph with the “nuclear football” – the briefcase containing the technology and codes to commence a nuclear strike (pictured above). The guest posted pictures of himself with the football on Facebook (the photos have since been deleted).
As reported by the Hill: “A visitor to President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida posted a Facebook photo with a person he says is responsible for carrying the black bag that contains the nuclear launch codes for the president of the United States.”
“This is Rick [wrote the guest]…He carries the ‘football’ The nuclear football (also known as the atomic football, the President’s emergency satchel, the Presidential Emergency Satchel, the button, the black box, or just the football) is a briefcase, the contents of which are to be used by the President of the United States to authorize a nuclear attack while away from fixed command centers, such as the White House Situation Room.”
Photo ops with the nuclear football? That is quite a hotel perk for Trump to offer to his guests.
