As recently reported by Restore Progress, Donald is sticking taxpayers with $3 million bill for his luxury getaway to Florida this weekend. According to the Washington Post, Donald’s son (and big-game hunter) Eric – who has no official role in the White House – is also running up an expensive travel tab on the taxpayers’ dime.
Reports the Post: “When the president-elect’s son, Eric Trump, jetted to Uruguay in early January for a Trump Organization promotional trip, U.S. taxpayers were left footing a bill of nearly $100,000 in hotel rooms for Secret Service and embassy staff.”
The Hill provides additional details on Eric’s trip: “In the coastal town of Punta del Este, Eric Trump met with real estate brokers, dined at a beachfront eatery and spoke at an ‘ultra exclusive’ party at Trump Tower Punta del Este.”
Donald Trump claims to be a billionaire many times over (we cannot confirm this since he has refused to release his tax returns). Maybe he should consider dipping into his own pockets for the business travel of his son, and the Secret Service agents who have to follow him around?
