Alt-right leader, accused white supremacist, and Trump counselor Steve Bannon credits Breitbart news and the elements of Trump’s constituency known as the “deplorables” and “hobbits” for securing Trump’s victory.
As reported by Politico, in an interview with Breitbart Bannon repeatedly praised Breitbart, crediting the platform for Donald’s success.
“We’ve lived through an historic time,” he said. “I think they’ll talk about what happened in this year politically for many, many decades to come.”
He also stated that he “really” misses Breitbart and looks forward to working with Breitbart audience members in early 2017.
Given Bannon’s and Breitbart’s accused flirtations with anti-Semites, white supremacists, and other far right extremists, it has been the hope of many that Bannon would cut ties with Breitbart during the time he advises Trump. It would appear Bannon has no such intentions.
