Under Trump, National Debt Will Exceed Cost Of War In Iraq, Afghanistan
The Washington Post today highlighted the hypocrisy of congressional Republicans who remain silent as Donald Trump makes grander and grander spending promises without providing any detail on how he intends to pay for the same.
President Obama has worked tirelessly to dig us out of Bush’s “Great Recession” and reconcile the $5 trillion worth of wars Republicans put on America’s credit card.
“Taken together, the Trump agenda stands to drain hundreds of billions of dollars a year from the federal balance sheet. His proposed tax cut alone…could cost the Treasury as much as $7.2 trillion over a decade.”
The Post provides: “The question is how congressional Republicans, after eight years of apocalyptic warnings about the growing national debt, will respond to the dire fiscal implications of proposals that would likely send the deficit soaring.”
So far, the congressional “response” has been defeaning silence.
