Trump continues his streak of naming advisors with extremist views.
First, his CIA Director stated that all legal and bureaucratic impediments to surveillance should be removed.
Second, his attorney general said that he used the think the KKK were ok until he learned they smoked marijuana.
And now strike three: CNN revealed today that in a speech, Trump’s National Security Advisor, Michael Flynn, told the crowd that “We should fight this idea of this imposition of Sharia law into our system. And believe me, folks, it is happening.”
He went on to say “I don’t know if it’s happening up here in Massachusetts, it’s happening in other states.” And that “all 12 Democrats [In the Florida state senate] voted to impose Shariah law at the local and state level.”
There’s just one problem: None of those statements are true. Polifact rated the statement “Pants on Fire” and the Houston Chronicle dubbed rumors about Sharia courts their hoax of the year.
